2021 Year-End Review

Taking a look back at 2021, and a look forward to 2022!

This year felt less productive than most. I didn't do as much hobby work as I would have liked, and fell way short of the number of blog posts I aim for (I try to do 50 per year). The Hobby Bingo card is pretty sparse as well, although I came close to a Bingo on the diagonal. I managed to finish off some pretty ambitious projects, although painting my Imperial Fists eluded me yet again. But they're at the top of my painting queue, so I'll force myself to work on them early next year.

If you want to give the Wargame Hobby Bingo a go, here's the unchecked card:

One accomplishment I'm proud of is finally getting some videos up on my YouTube channel. It's mostly rotations of my models and terrain, but I do have one sculpting tutorial up, and hope to work on more in 2022, along with some scenery tutorials.

I made a last minute painting push was to finish off the final gallows (the one with the zombie), so that's just about all of the Cursed City objectives completed.

But, I still have a long way to go with the rest of the set:

I'm happy to see that Cursed City is returning to availability, and I hope the expansions offer more than just repackaging Radukar the Beast, Kritza, and Belladamma from the Soulblight Gravelords book. There are a few "dead-ish" images in GW's Rumor Engine previews, but I think most of them will end up being for Nighthaunt. Their Battletome was the first released with 2nd Edition Age of Sigmar, so it's likely that we'll see a new book next year. It might be nice to have some new ghosts to paint.

One project I'm looking forward to is converting a vampire queen that combines these two models:

I hope everyone has a safe, healthy, and happy New Year!

'Til next time!

  1. The quality of your first YouTube tutorial is very impressive, like you've been doing the videos for years. It must be really time consuming to run a blog and a YouTube channel. Kudos for that!

    1. Thanks a lot! Yeah, between this and trying to sculpt products for my Skull Forge Scenics line, it's a wonder I have any spare time at all. :D
