Happy New Year, Everyone! In this post, I'm taking stock of what's in the hobby queue and setting some goals for 2026.
I was hoping to complete the Star Wars: Shatterpoint miniatures I had started. On New Year's Eve I was able to finish up Kanan's shirt and the mustard color on Zeb's jumpsuit. They're at the top of my queue this year. I've also got a much-needed second Liche Priest assembled and ready to go.
Wargame Hobby Bingo
I kind of stopped tracking my Hobby Bingo progress, but I've taken stock and here's how I did in 2025:
My goal for 2026 is to fill in the entire card. I've done it once before, so it's certainly possible. The unaltered card is at the top of this post if you want to participate in your own Wargame Hobby Bingo challenge this year.
Resolutions for 2026
I want to finally build a display board/ photography backdrop for my Tomb Kings. I was planning to do it last year, but the rules for GW's online Armies on Parade didn't allow display boards– Participants were supposed to go to a physical Warhammer shop to enter an army with a display board. And my local game shop was holding an Old World tournament on the same day. When forced to make the choice, I'd much rather play with my army in a day-long Warhammer event rather than just set it up and stand around for a couple hours.
Now that my Tomb Kings army has reached a respectable size, I don't have to dedicate as much hobby time grinding through them. I want to get back to working on my Demon Ship board. If I keep chipping away at it on a regular basis, I should be able to get through it by the end of the year. (Hopefully sooner!)
I'd also like to finish up more outstanding projects from last year, namely the feral ghouls. I put some basing on the ones that are finished. I'm playing with the idea of using a Flesh Eater Courts Royal Decapitator as the unit champion.
Very cool that you're keeping this tradition going! I've actually been inspired by your bingo card from the end of 2017 and will be doing a variation of it on my blog. Same thing, but adapted to the Confrontation/Rackham crowd :)
