The Road to Armageddon
The local shop is hosting a Shadow War Armageddon, and I'm getting my kill team together...
I picked up the rulebook and decided on the Adepta Sororitas. I've always been a fan of the Sisters of Battle, so the chance to convert and paint a small squad is something I can't pass up. There are rumors of plastic Sisters on the horizon, so hopefully they will get some love in the 8th edition of 40K.
I've got a list written up– A Sister Superior with a storm bolter, three Battle Sisters with boltguns, and a Gunner Specialist with a multi-melta (for burning really tough heretics). After digging through my parts bin, I found seven models that I can use to convert the kill team. Some of them are Seraphim that need to be "grounded" and re-armed. I think that I have enough weapons to make the load-out that I've chosen, but a fair amount of conversion work will be needed since some of the dals don't have any arms!
I'll be covering the development of the kill team over the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
For now, let's take a look at their ride– an Sisters of Battle Immolator. I can't really use this in the game, but it will be intimidating to see this parked on the edge of the battlefield. I made this vehicle back in 2004 and it was featured in White Dwarf issue 293. The tank is converted with purity seals taken from the Empire steam tank, some braziers from a Mordheim witch hunter, and sculpted fire on the heavy flamers.
'Til next time!
SoB seem like a great team for SWA, although they lack a bit in close combat.
ReplyDeleteI remember that article. I can't wait to see this Kill Team take shape.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to see your kill team being assembled.
Hey.
ReplyDeleteI’ve just completed this project for tracking Kill Teams. It would be great if you could check it out and let me know what you think. You can add equipment, skills, injuries and more!

Pretty neat. I didn't see an option for Red Dot sights on the Sisters of Battle equipment. It might be nice to have the weapon stats in there as well when you select a weapon.
DeleteLooks great, Rob. Is the board scratch built? I like the texture pattern of the stone.
DeleteThanks! Yes, the board is scratch-built. I actually talked about it in my very first blog post, waaaay back in 2012! The stone texture is a wallpaper pattern that I found at Atlas Wallpaper. I made it in 2004(?) so I don't even know if that type of paper even exists anymore.
