  1. Wow, such an awesome Lizardmen board. How did you make the tiled effect for the slabs that make up most the surface area?

    1. The tiles were made using a ruler and lots of very precise V-cuts into the insulation foam base.

    2. I just love, love this table. Every once in a while I just have to check out these pictures.

I'm thinking about having a go at something like this myself. Since you're using foam for the ground/tiles, do you use anything to protect it from damage?

  2. Great table! May I ask where you purchased the excellent trees from? And are those blocks on the structures Hirst blocks?

    1. Thank you! Yes, those are some Hirst Arts blocks on the temples. (We used a lot of them back in the day!)

As for the trees, they are mostly scratch-built– a wire trunk, wrapped with masking tape and plastic leaves hot-glued together. There are a few pre-made trees with dark green leaves and sculpted (resin?) trunks. They were just something we had in the studio; unfortunately, I have no idea where they came from, and have not seen them since.

They might be from a craft store like Michael's. I could imagine them being sold in the section with the plastic animals and doll house accessories, but who knows?
